This Privacy Policy explains how Astermax ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our web application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in using Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password. If we add additional sign-in providers later, we will update this policy as needed.

2.2 Birth Data

To generate your natal chart and personalized astrological content, we collect your date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth during chart setup. We use those details to calculate your astrological placements and chart points. After chart calculation, we retain the calculated chart data needed to deliver the Service, not the raw birth details, unless a future feature clearly asks for your permission to save them.

We use birth time and location to calculate planetary positions. If you're uncomfortable entering an exact location, a nearby city can usually provide enough context for a usable chart.

2.3 Subscription and Billing

Astermax is currently pre-launch and not yet accepting subscription payments. Once paid subscriptions are available, payment processing will be handled by our approved Merchant of Record partner. We will not store your payment card details ourselves. The payment partner will collect and process payment information directly, and we will receive only the subscription status information and transaction identifiers needed to manage access to the Service.

2.4 Usage Data

During our pre-launch period, we may collect only limited aggregated or pseudonymous usage data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. If we enable broader product analytics after launch, we will update this policy and, where required, request any necessary consent.

2.5 Technical Data

Our servers automatically record standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs. This information is used for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.

To calculate your natal chart and generate your personalized astrological content
To manage your subscription and process billing events
To send you in-app notifications and, where permitted, push notifications
To improve and maintain the Service
To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal data — including your birth data — to train AI or machine learning models. Content generated by our personalized content generation system is produced on-demand using your data as input.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Google Sign-In — for authentication, governed by Google's privacy policy.
OpenRouter — routes AI generation requests to language model providers. Astrological chart data derived from your birth information (planetary positions, aspects, and chart points) is transmitted as part of content generation requests. Your raw birth date, time, and place of birth are never sent outside our infrastructure.
Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. Processes network-level data as part of delivering the Service.
Approved payment partner (to be confirmed at launch) — once subscriptions are live, our Merchant of Record partner will process payment details such as card number and billing address, and will manage subscriptions, refunds, and tax collection on our behalf.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data, calculated chart data, and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records for tax purposes).

Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
Portability — request your data in a portable format
Objection — object to certain types of processing

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use only cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service, such as authentication and security-related functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking on the pre-launch site. If we enable optional analytics cookies or similar technologies later, we will update this policy and provide any consent choices required by applicable law.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and secure secret management. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we maintain appropriate safeguards.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
